UNDATED (AP) — Boeing is expanding inspections of locator beacons on some of its planes.

Last week United Airlines and All Nippon Airways said there were wiring problems on some Boeing 787 emergency transmitters.

The locator beacons are made by Honeywell. Now Boeing is asking airlines also flying their 717s and Next-Generation 737, 747-400, 767 and 777 airplanes to inspect their battery-operated beacons.
