LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Bond has been set for the man whom police say shot and killed one person and shot at another after the pair broke into his home early Wednesday morning.

Joseph Jean-Louis, 30, will was charged with possession with intent to distribute and illegal carrying of a firearm. Bond is set at $2,500 for each charge, according to KATC TV-3.

Police said the two masked men forced their way into Jean-Louis' Paradise Street home early Wednesday.

One of the two men, 43-year-old Spencer James Francis, was shot multiple times, killing him, police said. He died on the front porch of the home, police said.

The second suspect was last seen driving a way in a light-colored car, police said.

Jean-Louis was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center Wednesday on the drug and gun charges.
