The date for the U.S. defaulting is drawing near.  7th District Congressman Charles Boustany says the plan by GOP Speaker of the House  John Boehner is the best option for right now.

Metro Source News reports on the latest:

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he cannot wait any longer and is ready to move on compromise legislation to head off a default crisis.  A default crisis looms without a boost in the more than 14-trillion dollar debt ceiling by Tuesday.  Reid said a short-term extension is not an option.  Illinois Democrat Richard Durbin said default could provoke an economic disaster.  Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell accused Democratic leaders of dawdling.  Meantime, efforts in the Republican-led House to craft a debt limit bill crumbled overnight.  A revised House bill may be considered today."

Boustany interviewed with Ken Romero along with Bernadette Lee this morning on "Mornings With Ken & Bernie" about the latest.  Boustany says these are very serious times, and this budget crisis affects everything from persception of our world on a global scare, national security and the markets.
