Boustany Wants Lease Extensions

Lafayette Congressmen Charles Boustany has joined Republican Congressmn  Bill Flores of Texas, Democratic Congressman Gene Green of Texas and Democratic Congressman Dan Boren Oklahoma in introducing legislation calling for expanded and faster domestic energy production since there has been another spike in gas prices due to growing uncertainty and unrest in the Middle East. The Lease Extension and Secure Energy (LEASE) Act of 2011, would extend all oil and gas exploration leases in the Gulf of Mexico that were impacted by the U.S. Department of Interior’s drilling moratorium for an additional 12 months.
