Boustany Wins 3rd District Congressional Run-Off

At the conclusion of a hotly contested run-off election Congressman Dr. Charles Boustany defeated freshman Congressman Jeff Landry. Unofficial results from the Secretary of State's office show Boustany with approximately 60% of the vote while Landry had 40% of the vote.

Congressman Boustany carried the following parishes:

Acadia
Calcasieu
Cameron
Jefferson Davis
Lafayette
St. Landry
Vermilion

Congressman Landry carried:

Iberia
St. Mary
St. Martin

In other races Roland Boudreaux was elected Mayor of Rayne by a margin of 13 votes. Boudreaux earned 1,355 votes while his opponent Chuck Robichaux tallied 1,342.

Iberia Parish residents living in District 1 elected Natalie Lopez Robin to the Parish Council over Shelly Greer Hebert by a vote of 608 to 513.
