Two White House officials with knowledge of the situation say Chief Strategist Steve Bannon is out as President Trump's Chief Strategist. Earlier this week, Bannon gave a liberal Washington, DC an interview that was critical of Trump's response to the attack in Charlottesville, Virginia. FOX's Dana Perino reports that Bannon gave his resignation two weeks ago and Trump just accepted it officially today.

The "New York Times" says that President Trump told aides that he decided that it was time for Bannon to be removed from the post.

Bannon was asked to take the spot after Trump's election.

Steve Bannon was one of the founding members of Breitbart News.

In a FOX News report, sources say President Trump told aides he removed Bannon from his White House role. At this time, there is no indication that Bannon has actually left the role at this time.
