Breaux Bridge Man Arrested In Vehicular Homicide Case

30-year-old Emmanuel Wiltz of Breaux Bridge has been charged with Vehicular Homicide in the death of 56-year-old Betty Borel of Breaux Bridge just before the new year began.

La. State Police Master Trooper Brooks David says Wiltz's Silverado hit Borel's vehicle head on shortly before 3:00 p.m. on December 30 on La Highway 328 near Dermile Calais Road. At first, authorities believed Borel suffered only moderate injuries, but she later died from them. Wiltz, who suffered minor injuries, was suspected of being impaired at the time of the crash.

Police continue to investigate.
