With Secretary of State Tom Schedler predicting a 45-50 percent voter turnout today voting has been heavy early on. Election commissioners have been reporting a steady flow of voters since the polls opened at 6:00am today.

In addition to the most important Senate race, Congressional races are being determined along with District Attorney races, council races and school board races voters are facing 14 amendments. With only 3 minutes per voter commissioners are urging voters to be prepared by listing your votes on paper to bring with you into the voting booth.

The Rotary Clubs of Lafayette are urging voters to bring canned goods and other non-perishables to donate to FoodNet while voting. Receptacles for donations are placed near the entrance to all polling locations in Lafayette.
