A brother and sister and in trouble with the law after they allegedly teamed up to try to kill someone earlier this week.

Opelousas Police Department spokesman Sergeant Jody White tells our news partners at KATC the victim was allegedly called by the sister, 28-year-old Nagathia Malveaux, to come to her house on Monday. When the victim got to Malveaux's house, Sgt. White says Malveaux's brother, Lawrence Chenier of Opelousas, allegedly went up to the victim in the driveway and the two began arguing, then fighting.

Police say as the victim tried to leave, the sister then allegedly handed her brother a handgun which he allegedly used to shoot several times at the victim's vehicle. Officers say they found a bullet hole in the front winshield of the victim's vehicle, but fortunately, no one was hurt.

The brother and sister are behind bars, but if you have any additional information, call the Opelousas Police Department at 337-948-2500.
