19-year-old Hunter Branam of Broussard is behind bars after allegedly pulling out a taser and threatening to pull his gun on someone at The Grand 14 - Ambassador on Kaliste Saloom Road on Saturday.

Lafayette Police spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says, according to witnesses, it began when a male patron approached a female in the auditorium and asked that she stop texting. Mouton says that's when her male companion, Branam, immediately stood up, engaged into an argument, then produced a taser, activated it, then allegedly said he was going get his gun and left the auditorium.

Police were called in after numerous people ran out of the auditorium. Branam was arrested at the theater for Disturbing the Peace and Terrorizing.

The taser was located in one of the bathrooms.  Police did not locate a firearm.
