35-year-old Todd William Strodtman of Broussard is now behind bars, charged with the rape of a 14-year-old girl.

The girl's mother called the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office on Friday, saying she arrived home to find Strodtman in her daughter's bedroom, half-dressed.  The mother confronted him and Strodtman allegedly ran from the home.

Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz says that the daughter was taken to the hospital for treatment and indicates that, upon investigation, it was found that Strodtman allegedly brought alcohol to the home as well.

Strodtman was found and arrested in Lafayette and has been charged with simple rape.  Guidroz added that, due to the age of the victim in this case, no further information will be released.
