Buc-ee's, the mega-convenience store chain based out of Texas, has cancelled its plans for expansion in Louisiana.

A company representative said on Tuesday the decision was made because the company was having difficulty securing additional locations in the state.

"To date, we have only been able to secure one site,” said Jeff Nadalo, the company’s general counsel, in an email to Baton Rouge TV station WBRZ. “As a result, we have decided not to move forward in Baton Rouge.”

The Baton Rouge location was to be the first Buc-ee's outside of the state of Texas. It would've been built at the Millerville exit at I-12.

The popular Texas chain is known for stores up to 60,000 square feet and promises the "cleanest restrooms in America."
