Bunkie Man Arrested In Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash

30-year-old Alfredo Segura-Prado of Bunkie has been arrested on multiple charges after the vehicle he was driving ran off LA 182 near Cotton Patch Road on Sunday evening, killing 34-year-old Magdaleno Prado Marquez of Bunkie, an unrestrained passenger.

Louisiana State Police spokesman Master Trooper Brooks David says Prado was traveling north when he lost control of the vehicle while making a turn and ran into a tree as it began to overturn. Prado, who was also unrestrained, suffered serious injuries.

David says impairment is suspected to be a factor. Prado has been arrested on the following charges:

• Vehicular Homicide
• Careless Operation
• Driving Left of Center
• No Seat Belt

When Prado is released from the hospital, he will be booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
