Around 7 a.m. this morning Lafayette Police were called to the scene of a bus accident on Acadian Hills Lane.

Traffic investigators says a westbound school bus was struck by a car that crossed the centerline. Six students on the bus, ranging in ages from 7 to 10 years old, reported minor injuries and were transported to area hospitals. Both the driver of the bus and the driver of the car were also taken to area hospitals with minor to moderate injuries being their complaints. The school bus was taking kids to Myrtle Place Elementary. Corporal Paul Mouton says the driver of the car was issued citations for Driving Left of Center, No Seatbelt, Expired License Plate and No Insurance. The crash remains under investigation.
