State Senator Fred Mills visited 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today in anticipation of the unveiling of a new Louisiana license plate.

According to Mills,

Today in Breaux Bridge we will be unveiling a new prestige license plate that you can purchase to support CODOFIL (Council on Development of French in Louisiana).  It says 'I'm Cajun and Proud'.  It's a good way to show your Cajun pride and to support CODOFIL and the good works they do.

Mills said the new plates are easy to buy.

I just checked with DMV and it's on line now.  You can just go on-line and order it or you can go down to your local Department of Motor Vehicles.

When asked how the plate purchase would benefit CODOFIL Mills said,

The cost of the plate is $15 and it's an annual royalty fee and that $15 goes to support the CODOFIL scholarships.  In addition to the license plate beginning on January 1st 2014 you'll be able to imprint your driver's license with the phrase 'I'm a Cajun' for a $5 fee which will also go to support CODOFIL.
