Ragin' Cajuns baseball picked up a midweek game in Houston to replace the game weather stole against McNeese State. Not bad, Coach Robe.

Tony Robichaux announced the May 11th matchup on Tuesday, which helps out the Cajuns in a couple ways.

"This is a good thing for two reasons," Robichaux said. "One, it gives us a chance to continue to protect our RPI, and two, it allows us to play another quality opponent in front of our fans next year."

Houston sits at 78 in this week's RPI rankings, and McNeese State is at 75. The Cajuns replaced a game with an equally competitive opponent, so credit to Coach Robe and Associate Head Coach Anthony Babineaux for pulling some strings to get this done in a pinch.

Hitting the road to play a quality opponent that close to the beginning of the postseason will help with the "weathering" Robichaux always discusses. To make the deal even sweeter, Houston will repay the Cajuns trip to Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park in Houston with a game at M.L. Tigue Moore Field in 2017. Solid addition, all around.

In South Louisiana, you can plan on losing a few games to weather. Coach Robe and Coach Bab were ready to fill the hole in their schedule, that's for sure.
