Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team bounced back in game 2, overcoming a long rain delay and early 2-0 deficit to take down the Troy Trojans by the score of 6-3.

Christina Hamilton pitched all 7 innings for Louisiana, improving he record to 7-1 on the season with impressive pitching from the circle. Hamilton throw 111 pitches, struck out 8, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, displaying solid command throughout.

Hamilton worked 1.0 inning of work in the game 1 loss on Saturday, only to pitch one inning of game 2, before resting for over 100 minutes due to a 95 minute rain delay at Lamson Park.

The Cajuns had to cover the field twice with a tarp during a rain delay, before uncovering it to resume play. Moments after they captured the win, the rain started up again at Lamson Park.

The timing was also right for a few Cajun batters in game 2. Shellie Landry jacked a two run homer in her first at bat of the game, while Aleah Craighton earned her third triple of the year.

Landry's homerun gave her the team lead on the season with 12, before Lexie Elkins nailed her 12th homer of the season, knocking in a solo shot in the bottom of the 5th.

With the victory, Louisiana improves to 24-4 on the season, with a 9-2 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. Troy falls to 18-13 with the loss, 4-4 in conference play.
