Cajuns Bullpen Shines In 7-4 Win Over Tulane

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun baseball team improved to 14-2 on the season Wednesday night, defeating the Tulane Green Wave 7-4 in New Orleans. Louisiana's bullpen was sensational.

Cody Boutte got things started on the mound for the Cajuns, tossing two scoreless innings and fanning three Wave batters.

Martin Anderson replaced Boutte, but only lasted three batters, giving up two walks, a hit, and three runs.

Ryan Wilson replaced him, holding Tulane to one run on two hits and three strikeouts in three innings of work, earning his first win of the season.

Following Wilson, Ben Carter, Matt Hicks and Reagan Bazar combined to throw four scoreless innings allowing only three hits and striking out six. Bazar closed out Tulane in the ninth, earning his third save of the season.

Offensively, the Cajuns tallied 10 hits, despite heavy winds. Shortstop Blake Trahan led the way, going 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs. Caleb Adams jacked a solo homerun to get the scoring started in the third, while Seth Harrison finished the night 2-4 at the plate with a double, an RBI, and a run.

The Cajuns are a prefect 6-0 on the road this season, and will try to make it 9-0 this weekend. Sun Belt Conference play begins as the Cajuns travel to Monroe for a weekend series against the Warhawks. First pitch Friday is set for 6:00. Steve Peloquin has the call.
