Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Saturday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Troy Trojans in a Sun Belt Conference match-up.

The game will be the backend of a women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women taking on Troy earlier in the day.

The matchup will also mark the second game of a five-game homestand for Louisiana.

Tipoff time for the men’s game is set for approximately 6:30 pm at the Cajundome.

Louisiana, who defeated South Alabama, 92-82, on Thursday night, is 8-8, overall, and 4-3 in league play, while Troy, who lost to ULM on Thursday, 85-74, is currently 6-12, and 1-6, respectively.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 81.6/75.5, and outshooting them from the floor, 44%/43%, while also holding down a 42.4/34.8 rebound advantage.

Louisiana is led by senior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 18.6 points, to go along with 12.5 rebounds-per-game, and senior guard Kasey Shepherd, who is averaging 12.4 points and 2.3 rebounds a contest.

Troy is being outscored by the opposition, 76.7/74.8, while outshot by opponents from the floor, 44%/43%, and outrebounded 38.6/37.9 rebound advantage.

The Trojans are paced by junior guard Wesley Person, who is scoring 17.4 points, while pulling down 3.5 rebounds-per-game.
