The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team wanted to come out and play well at home and get the win at home which they have done in the last 15 contests in the Cajundome. The Cajuns came out and started fast in the first half and continued to pull away in the second half for their 16th straight home win as they defeated UTA 100-79 to move to 23-4 and 13-1 in conference play.

In the first half the Cajuns made 3 quick threes which totaled the amount they had the entire game on Thursday. The Cajuns were 14 of 34 from beyond the arc for the game. The Cajuns were able to pull away thanks to Frank Bartley's 14 points in the first half as they led 47-33 heading into the break.

The Cajuns continued the scoring and continued their dominance in the second half as they pulled away from the Mavericks even more. The Cajuns were led in scoring by Frank Bartley who had 25 points, while 4 other Cajuns scored in double figures. The Mavericks only had 3 players in double digits with Erick Neal leading the way with 26 points. Bryce Washington led the Cajuns in rebounds with 10 on the night.

The Cajuns have proved to be heads above everyone else in the league this season as all 13 wins in the Sun Belt have been by double digits. The Cajuns also got some more help in the standings as Georgia Southern defeated Georgia State to give the Panthers 4 conference losses. They have 2 remaining games at home and they deserve to have big crowds for their send off before they head to the conference tourney. The Cajuns are the first team to secure a first round bye in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

The Cajuns will head to Alabama this coming to week to face off against Troy on Thursday at 7:15 and South Alabama on Saturday at 7:05. Both games can be heard on HOT 107.9 and on RadioPup and the HOT 107.9 app. The Cajuns will return home after the trip to Alabama to finish off the regular season to face off against Little Rock and Arkansas State.
