Ryan Leonards had four hits and two Louisiana pitchers shut down Northwestern State as the top-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns smothered the Demons 10-1 for their thirteenth straight win.

Leonards singled in the first inning to set up the Cajuns' first run, walked and scored in the third, hit a two run homer in the fourth, then added two more singles and a walk.  He was the only Cajun to collect more than one hit in the game.

Seth Harrison drove in a pair of runs with two sacrifice flies and Jace Conrad drove in a pair as well with a two out ht.  Conrad now has 28 RBI on the year, with 16 of them coming with two outs.

Ryan Wilson (3-0) worked out of a pair of bases loaded jams in the third and fourth innings, giving up the only run by the Demons (12-11) in the first inning on Cort Brinson's RBI double.  Wilson worked 5.2 innings, giving up all eight Demons' hits.  He walked two and struck out six.

Matt Plitt came on for the Cajuns (23-2) and retired all ten men he faced, five of them on strikeouts, for his second save.

The Cajuns tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the first on Harrison's first sacrifice fly and took the lead for good against reliever Devin Bear, the second of seven pitchers used by Northwestern State in the game.  Tyler Girouard drove in a run with a bases loaded walk before Conrad unlo=aded a two run single to make it 3-1.  Leonards' third home run of the year came with Dylan Butler on base to make the score 5-1 and Louisiana would add another run in the fourth on an error.

The Cajuns added a run in the seventh and two more in the eighth for the final margin to send the 3,586 fans home happy.

Louisiana had ten hits and took advantage of eleven walks and two hit batsmen issued by Northwestern State pitchers.  The Demons' staff notched only one strikeout.

The Cajuns will try to extend their streak Wednesday night when they host the Southern University Jaguars at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field.  Game time is set for 6pm.
