Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Saturday, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad travels to Jonesboro, Arkansas to take on the Arkansas St. Red Wolves in a Sun Belt Conference tilt.

The match-up marks the final regular season game of the 2014-2015 college basketball season for Louisiana, and will also be the back-end of a women’s/men’s split-doubleheader, with the UL women taking on UALR at 3 o’clock.

Louisiana, who is coming off of a 75-69 home win over UALR on Thursday, their fifth-consecutive victory, is 18-12, overall, and 12-7 in league play, while Arkansas St., who lost to South Alabama, 81-76, on Thursday, is currently 11-17, overall, and 6-13 in Sun Belt Conference play.

UL currently sits in fourth-place in the Sun Belt Conference standings, while Arkansas St. tenth-place.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 78.0/70.3, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 46.2%/42.8%, and holding down a 39.7/33.2 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by junior forward Shawn Long, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 17.0 ppg, and 10.3 rpg, respectively, and senior forward Brian Williams, who is averaging 10.1 points, to go along with 3.7 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana is 5-8 on the road this season, including a 5-4 conference road mark.

The Red Wolves are being out-scored by the opposition, 68.7/64.5, while being out-shot by foes from the field, 42.2%/40.8%, and out-rebounded, 37.0/35.7.

Arkansas St. is paced by sophomore forward Anthony Livingston, who is averaging 15.5 points and 9.9 rebounds-per-game, along with junior guard Cameron Golden, who is averaging 14.0 points, to go along with 3.1 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana will be going after the two-game season series sweep, after defeating Arkansas St., 96-59, back on January 22 in Lafayette.
