Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team fell on the road in Sun Belt Conference action on Thursday evening, dropping an 88-64 decision to the South Alabama Jaguars, in a match-up played in Mobile, Alabama.

South Alabama led at the half, 39-28, and then outscored Louisiana in the second half, 49-36, to go on to the 22-point victory, their fourth straight win, and seventh in their last eight games.

The Jaguars out-shot the Cajuns from the field, 49%-42%, and also finished with a 43-24 rebound advantage.

Augustine Rubit led the way for South Alabama, scoring a game-high 34 points, along with 12 rebounds, while Elfrid Payton paced Louisiana in a losing cause with 17 points.

With the victory, the Jaguars improved to 15-9 overall,and 12-4 in Sun Belt Conference play, while the Cajuns fell to 9-17 overall, and 5-10 in league play.

Louisiana returns to action on Saturday, when they host FAU at the Cajundome.
