As the old disc jockey used to say "...and the hits just keep on comin'."

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns pounded out 21 hits, nine of them for extra bases, and tallied a season high in hits and runs in trouncing Nicholls State 18-2, before a paid crowd of 4,952 at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park Tuesday night.

"We really did a nice job offensively," head coach Tony Robichaux said.  "But, just like our losses, we have to flush this and get ready for the weekend.  We know we're going to face some really good arms (at Coastal Carolina.)

Steven Sensley, Ishmael Edwards and Brad Antchak each had three hits to lead the attack, with Sensley knocking in four runs and Edwards three.  Antchak scored four times on the night.  Todd Lott, Tyler Stover, Dylon Poncho and freshman Josh Aguilar each had a pair of hits in the rout.

Eleven Cajuns had at least one hit, with Aguilar, Poncho and Zach Lafleur all picking up their first hits of the season.

Jack Burk (2-3) won his second straight decision, allowing two runs on nine hits in 6.1 innings of work.  He walked only one and struck out six.  Wyatt Marks and Dylan Moore combined for 2.2 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hits with three strikeouts.

Edwards started the onslaught for Louisiana (17-12) in the third inning with a two run homer down the line in right, scoring Antchak who had doubled to give the Cajuns a 2-0 lead.  Nicholls (17-13) got a run back in the top of the fourth on an RBI single by Gavin Wehby, but the Cajuns put the game away in the bottom of the inning, scoring four times, highlighted by Aguilar's first career hit, a triple to center.

The Cajuns scored ten runs in the sixth and seventh innings, with Sensley driving in four of them and added two more in the eighth.

Alex Ernestine (1-1) the first of six pitchers for the Colonels, took the loss, allowing five hits and four runs in 3.0 innings of work.  The Cajuns scored at least one run off every Colonels' pitcher.
