Cajuns Host Demons – Game Preview
Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team plays their 2015 home opener on Saturday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad plays host to the Northwestern St. Demons, in a non-conference match-up.
The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate begins at 4 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast in time for the Hampton Toyota Pregame Show, which will begin at 5 pm.
Kickoff time at Cajun Field is set for 6 o’clock.
The game, which marks the 15th annual Herbert Heymann Classic, will also mark the first meeting between the two schools in ten years,

Louisiana, who finished 9-4, overall, last season, including a fourth-consecutive win in the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, with a 16-3 victory over Nevada, while finishing Sun Belt Conference play with a 7-1 mark, lost their season opener last week, falling to the Kentucky Wildcats,
Offensively, the Cajuns totaled 479 yards last week, including 247 rushing yards and 232 passing yards, while allowing 435 yards, including 257 passing yards and 158 rushing yards, defensively.
Defensively in 2014, Louisiana is allowed 26.0 points, 405.8 total yards, 142.2 rushing yards, and 263.6 passing yards per game, while Kentucky gave up an average of 31.2 points, 406.9 yards of total offense, 191.2 rushing yards, and 215.8 passing yards an outing.
Northwestern St. will also come into the game at 0-1, after falling to the Southeastern Louisiana Lions, 34-20, last week.
Offensively, the Demons picked-up 259 total yards, including 153 passing yards and 103 rushing yards, while allowing 453 total yards, including 438 rushing yards and 15 passing yards, defensively.
Louisiana leads the all-time series, 36-35-3.
