Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Thursday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Georgia St. Panthers in a key Sun Belt Conference tilt.

Tip-off time is scheduled for approximately 7:15 pm, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, along with Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 pm.

The game will mark the back-end of a day/night women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women taking on Georgia St. at 5 o'clock.

Louisiana, who is coming off of an 80-64 road win over Appalachian St. in conference action on Monday night, is 9-5 on the season, and 3-0 in league play, while Georgia St., who fell to Texas St., 77-74, in double-overtime, on Monday evening, will bring in an overall record of 9-5, and a league mark of 2-1.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 82.5/69.6, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 50.0%/40.6%, and holding down a 40.1/34.4 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by junior forward Shawn Long, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 14.6 ppg, and 8.4 rpg, respectively, and senior forward Brian Williams, who is averaging 12.8 points, to go along with 4.5 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana is looking to improve to 4-0 in Sun Belt Conference play for the first time ever.

The Panthers are out-scoring the opposition, 73.0/64.5, and out-shooting foes from the field, 48.2%/40.1%, while being out-rebounded, 34.4/33.1.

Georgia St. is paced by senior guard Ryan Harrow, who is averaging 19.6 points and 1.9 rebounds-per-game, along with junior guard R.J. Hunter, who is averaging 19.5 points, along with 4.1 rebounds a contest.

Georgia St. leads all-time series, 4-3, including two wins over Louisiana during the regular season last year, before the Cajuns defeated Georgia St., 82-81, in overtime, in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament title game, advancing UL into the NCAA Tournament.
