Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Wednesday night, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host the Spring Hill College Badgers in an exhibition match-up.

Tipoff time is set for 7 o’clock at the Cajundome.

The Cajuns, who restart Sun Belt Conference play on January 2, when they host Appalachian St., haven't played since December 21, so this exhibition tilt gives them a chance to stay sharp.

Louisiana, who defeated UNO, 79-69, in non-conference action on December 21, is 4-5 on the young season, while Spring Hill, a Division II school, and a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, is currently 1-8.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 84.8/80.1, and outshooting them from the floor, 45.1%/44.7%, while also holding down a 43.1/36.2 rebound advantage.

Louisiana is led by senior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 18.2 points, to go along with 11.9 rebounds-per-game, and senior guard Kasey Shepherd, who is averaging 11.0 points and 2.1 rebounds a contest.

Spring Hill is being outscored by the opposition, 78.1/68.1, as well as being outshot by opponents, 47%/45%, while holding down a slim 34.1/33.8 rebounding advantage.

The Badgers are paced by freshman guard Sawyer Glick, who is scoring 18.4 points, while pulling down 2.3 rebounds-per-game.
