Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Wednesday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the McNeese St. Cowboys in a non-conference match-up.

Tipoff time at the Cajundome is set for 7 o’clock.

Louisiana, who dropped their conference opener to ULM, 81-70, last Thursday, is 2-3 on the young season, while McNeese St., who lost to Central Michigan, 74-73, back on November 30, will enter the match-up with a record of 1-5.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 90.8/81.8, and outshooting them from the floor, 49%/45%, while also holding down a 43.6/32.2 rebound advantage.

Louisiana is led by senior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 19.0 points, to go along with 11.2 rebounds-per-game, and sophomore swingman Johnathan Stove, who is averaging 12.0 points a contest.

McNeese St. is being outscored by the opposition, 77.0/69.3, while also being outshot, 45%/42%, and outrebounded, 40.2/34.8.

The Cowboys are paced by junior guard Jamaya Burr, who is scoring 15.3 points, while pulling down 3.8 rebounds-per-game.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 55-35.
