Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Thursday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Texas St. Bobcats in a Sun Belt Conference match-up.

The game will be the backend of a women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women taking on Texas St. earlier in the day.

The matchup will also mark the third game of a five-game homestand for Louisiana, winners of four straight.

Tipoff time for the men’s game is set for approximately 7:15 pm at the Cajundome.

Louisiana, who defeated Troy, 88-65, on Saturday night, is 9-8, overall, and 5-3 in league play, while Texas St., who beat Arkansas St. on Saturday, 78-68, is currently 9-7, and 3-4, respectively.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 82.0/74.9, and outshooting them from the floor, 45%/44%, while also holding down a 41.6/34.8 rebound advantage.

Louisiana is led by senior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 18.7 points, to go along with 12.6 rebounds-per-game, and senior guard Kasey Shepherd, who is averaging 12.1 points and 2.1 rebounds a contest.

Texas St. is being outscoring the opposition, 68.4/62.2, while outshooting opponents from the floor, 43%/42%, and holding down a 35.7/32.9 rebounding advantage.

The Bobcats are paced by senior forward Emani Gant, who is scoring 13.6 points, while pulling down 7.3 rebounds-per-game.
