Fresh off a two game sweep on the road in the state of Texas, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns open up a three game homestand tonight when they take on Arkansas-Little Rock in a 7:05 contest at the Cajundome.

It will be the second meeting of the season between the Cajuns and Trojans, with UALR claiming an 80-69 win two weeks ago.

This will also be the eighth meeting between close friends, UALR head coach Steve Shields and UL's head man Bob Marlin.  Shields was on Marlin's staff at Pensacola Junior College.  The series has been even, with the teams splitting the series each of the three years of play.  Shields took a 4-3 lead with the UALR win earlier this season.

The Cajuns (15-9, 6-5 Sun Belt) are riding a three game winning streak, with a victory over ULM twelve days ago sparking the squad, who then took road wins over UT Arlington (92-89) before posting a dramatic come-from-behind win at Texas State, 67-66.  UALR (12-12, 7-5) is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Western Kentucky, a game in which UALR led by 13 points with eight minutes to play.  Trency Jackson's 28 foot shot at the buzzer gave the Hilltoppers a 79-78 win.

In the first meeting this year between the two clubs, Will Neighbour led the Trojans with 24 points and 12 rebounds.  For Louisiana, Elfrid Payton scored 20 points and junior J. J. Davenport had his first career double-double.  Cajuns forward Shawn Long did not play in the contest.  The Cajuns started the game 4-7 from three point range, but missed their last 13 shots beyond the arc.

The game can be heard on ESPN1420 and Hot 107.9 beginning at 6:35pm.
