Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Thursday night, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the UALR Trojans in a Sun Belt Conference tilt at the Cajundome.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:15 pm, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, as well as our sister-station, Hot 107.9 FM & 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 pm.

The match-up marks the final home game of the 2014-2015 college basketball season for Louisiana, and will also be the back-end of a women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women taking on UALR at 5 o’clock.

Louisiana, who is coming off of a 68-58 home win over Georgia Southern last Saturday, their fourth-consecutive victory, is 17-12, overall, and 11-7 in league play, while UALR, who lost to UT-Arlington, 82-73, last Thursday, is currently 13-16, overall, and 8-11 in Sun Belt Conference play.

UL currently sits in fourth-place in the Sun Belt Conference standings, while UALR is in sixth-place.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 78.1/70.4, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 46.4%/42.7%, and holding down a 39.7/33.7 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by junior forward Shawn Long, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 17.1 ppg, and 10.3 rpg, respectively, and senior forward Brian Williams, who is averaging 10.1 points, to go along with 3.7 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana is 11-3 at home this season, including a 6-3 conference home mark.

The Trojans are being out-scored by the opposition, 70.6/69.7, while being out-shot by foes from the field, 44.7%/42.0%, and out-rebounded, 36.5/34.7.

UALR is paced by senior guard Josh Hagins, who is averaging 12.1 points and 4.0 rebounds-per-game, along with junior guard James White, who is averaging 11.9 points, to go along with 6.6 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana will be going after the two-game season series sweep, after defeating UALR, 83-79, back on December 30 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
