Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Wednesday evening, when coach Bob Marlin's squad plays host to the Northwestern St. Demons, in non-conference action.

Louisiana is currently 4-2 on the young season, after winning the tournament title at the EA Sports Maui on the Mainland Invitational last week in Conway, South Carolina, defeating both Oakland (84-75) and Coastal Carolina (73-69).

Northwestern St., who fell in overtime to ULM, 84-80, back on November 21, will come in at 2-2.

The Cajuns are led by junior guard Elfrid Payton, who is averaging 22.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists-per-game, and sophomore forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 20.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks a contest, while the Demons are paced by sophomore guard Jalan West, who is averaging 18.0 points-per-game.

Northwestern St. leads the all-time series, 38-33, but Louisiana won last year's match-up, 74-67.

Tip-off time at the Cajundome is scheduled for 7:05.
