Ragin' Cajuns fans wanted to say goodbye to M.L. Tigue Moore Field with a win and a trip to the super regional round, but that's now how the story panned out.

The Cajuns' season came to an end in front of their fans, in the final game at "The Tigue" before it gets major renovations. Cajun Nation sang "Centerfield" and "Sweet Caroline" at full throat, but their support wasn't enough to power the team through to the next round.

Arizona got to Wyatt Marks for three runs in the first two innings, but Eric Carter came out of the bullpen and made sure it was only three runs that went on the board to end the game. He left the field to a standing ovation in the 8th Inning, which was a fitting sendoff for the senior pitcher who came out of nowhere this year lock down the Cajuns bullpen with Dylan Moore.

Kyle Clement's monster solo home run to right field in the 4th Inning was a certain spark, but it never grew into a full fire. The senior provided the only Cajun run in the 3-1 loss, but he tried as hard as he could to earn himself and the fans a few more games of baseball.

The players huddled up together on the field to say goodbye to their season, and the fans gathered in and around the stadium to say their own goodbyes to "The Tigue."

Saying goodbye usually hurts a little, and it will take time for the Cajuns and their fans to get over not reaching the super regionals. It's only "goodbye for now" though.

Tony Robichaux and his players will be back again next year, with a new and improved ball park behind them. This year's grind is over, but the Ragin' Cajuns aren't done working. As long as Coach Robe is at the helm, the Cajuns will play championship quality baseball.

See you back out at the park next season, Cajun Nation. There will be some new faces on the squad, but everybody will still bleed vermilion and white. Geaux Cajuns.
