Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Monday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad travels to Las Vegas, Nevada to take on the Milwaukee Panthers in a non-conference tilt at the MGM Grand.

Tip-off is scheduled for 5 o’clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, along with Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 4:30 pm.

The game is the third contest for the Cajuns in the MGM Grand Main Event, which will conclude on Tuesday night, in a match-up with Oral Roberts, also in Las Vegas.

Louisiana, who is 1-2 on the young season, is coming off of a 105-80 setback to Auburn on Friday night, while Milwaukee, who fell to Oklahoma St., 82-68, on Friday night, is currently 1-3.

The Cajuns are being outscored by the opposition, 75.3/72.7, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 497.%/45.9%, and holding down a 36.0/32.3 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by senior forward Brian Williams, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 12.7 and 6.0, respectively, along with junior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 9.7 points, along with 4.0 rebounds a contest.

The Panthers are being outscored by the opposition, 72.3/71.0, while out-shooting foes, 46.0%/44.5%, and also out-rebounded competitors, 34.8/32.8.

Milwaukee is paced by senior guard Steve McWhorter, who is averaging 15.3 points and 5.3 rebounds-per-game, along with sophomore guard Akeem Springs, who is averaging 10.5 points, along with 6.0 rebounds a contest.

The game will mark the first-ever match-up between the two schools.
