Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Friday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad travels to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in a non-conference match-up.

Tipoff time at Coleman Coliseum is set for 7 o’clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on Hot 107.9 & 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 pm.

The game marks the second game of a two-game road trip for UL, who return home on Wednesday night, when they host Loyola.

Louisiana, who fell to Miami on Monday night, 93-77, is 1-1 on the young season, while Alabama, who lost to Dayton, 80-48, on Tuesday night, will also enter the match-up at 1-1.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 92.5/80.5, and outshooting them from the floor, 53%/47%, while also holding down a 43.0/28.0 rebound advantage.

Louisiana is led by senior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 17.5 points, to go along with 9.0 rebounds-per-game, and senior forward Devonta Walker and senior guard Kasey Shepherd, who are both averaging 14 points a contest.

Alabama, a member of the SEC, is being outscored by the opposition, 72.0/62.5, while also being outshot, 41%/40%, and outrebounded, 43.0/36.0.

The Crimson Tide is paced by senior guard Retin Obasohan, who is scoring 12.5 points-per-game.

 

The contest will mark the fourth meeting between the two teams in series history, with each contest being played in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama leads the all-time series, 3-0.
