Cajuns Travel To Take On Arkansas St.

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Thursday evening, when coach Bob Marlin's squad travels to Jonesboro, Arkansas, to take on the Arkansas St. Red Wolves, in Sun Belt Conference action.

Louisiana defeated Duquesne, 91-79, last Saturday, to move to 5-8 overall, and 1-1 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Arkansas St. fell to Kent, 73-69, last Saturday, to drop to 6-5 overall, and 0-2 in league play.

The Cajuns are led by freshman center Shawn Long, who is averaging 17.2 points, and 9.6 rebounds-per game, while the Red Wolves are paced by junior guard Ed Townsel, who is averaging 15.5 points a contest.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 43-22, and also won the last match-up, capturing a 68-65 overtime win last February in Lafayette.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
