Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Saturday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad travels to Lake Charles, La. to take on the the McNeese St. Cowboys in a non-conference tilt.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 o’clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, along with Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 pm.

The game is the final road game before the Cajuns open up a three-game home stand.

Louisiana, who is 3-3 on the young season, is coming off of a 76-53 win over Jackson St. last Wednesday, at the Cajundome, while McNeese St., who defeated Southern-New Orleans, 74-63, last Wednesday, is currently 3-2.

The Cajuns are outscoring by the opposition, 70.3/64.5, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 46.9.%/39.2%, and holding down a 37.5/33.7 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by senior forward Brian Williams, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 12.7 and 6.0, respectively, along with junior forward Devonta Walker, who is averaging 11.5 points, along with 5.5 rebounds a contest.

The Cowboys are outscoring the opposition, 72.0/71.8, while being out-shot, 44.3%/43.6%, and out-rebounded, 40.4/36.2.

McNeese St. is paced by senior forward Desharick Guidry, who is averaging 17.4 points and 11.4 rebounds-per-game, along with sophomore guard Jamaya Burr, who is averaging 10.6 points, along with 5.4 assists a contest.

Louisiana leads all-time series, 55-34, including a 92-66 win a season ago in Lafayette.
