LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — The Calcasieu Parish School Board has approved the new contract for Superintendent Wayne Savoy.

The contract, which extends Savoy's term for another two years instead of four, brought up the issue of performance objectives and targets.

The contract was approved Tuesday.

While the board had already agreed upon the other areas of the contract such as the superintendent's salary — which will not be increased per Savoy's request — they had been waiting on the state to send a template for the performance goals and objectives.

Board President R.L. Webb told The American Press the template was not received until November and that the contract's details needed to be discussed and approved by the end of December.
