A driver lost control of his car early this morning in Lafayette.  Police say it happened around 4:30 when 22-year-old Gabriel Andrews, Jr. of Lafayette lost control of his car at the intersection of Johnston and College.  Then, in a bizarre twist, he ran the car up a guide wire for a telephone pole.

Emergency personnel were able to rescue Andrews from the vehicle and he was not injured as a result of the crash.  Andrews was later arrested and charged with OWI.
