The town of Mamou is still looking for a buyer for it's hospital, but the facility will get a huge vote of confidence in the new year when a new tenant opens up shop.

Cardiovascular Institute of the South has announced plans to open a new clinic there on January fifth. Mamou's town clerk welcomed the news, but he says it won't change plans to sell the hospital.

There are no plans to close the facility. Officials say they simply want a reliable firm to operate it.
