Carencro Dog Attack Injures 4 Family Members

According to our news partners at KATC deputies from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's office were called out to a home on Smart Park Lane in Carencro last night in response to a pit bull attack.

Deputies were advised that the dog had been shot and wounded by one of the adults who was attacked. Four victims had injuries from minor to moderate.

Members of the family told deputies that two children were horsing around when the dog became aggressive. One of the adult commanded the dog to stop and that's when the dog attacked one of the owners. Each family member that attempted to stop the attack was bitten by the dog. The dog was picked up by Lafayette Parish Animal Control.
