The city of Carencro purchased the former LA Ice Arena which will be renovated for use by the city's Parks and Recreation Commission. The 32,000-square-foot structure will be renovated to hold indoor soccer and football games. Additions to the property will allow for a gymnasium for basketball and volleyball courts.

Murray Conque, Chairman of Carencros' Parks and Recreation Committee said,

"This purchase allows the city of Carencro to have one of the largest recreation centers in the state with a total of 45,000 square feet under one roof."

The purchase--which will was made possible through a bond approved at $3.75 million-- will be used by youth leagues and other teams.
