On this October 22nd's ballot, there will be a proposal for a millage increase to raise money for Lafayette Parish School maintenance and the buiding fund.  Rob Guidry, CEO and President of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce tells KPEL members are divided on this tax increase.

Guidry says the millage proposal is a tough issue for many members because they want to see students achieve, but many members say that this millage proposal would not be tied to current program that would show achievement results.  Many question how maintenance and adding building will add to student achievement scores going higher.

Guidry says no matter what voters decide on the tax millage, the Chamber will host a forum next Spring on these tough education issue.
