Charenton Man Sentenced After Breaking Woman’s Nose

34-year-old Dugan Joseph Burleigh of Charlenton, already convicted of beating a woman, will now serve a year in prison for assaulting her.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley says Burleigh struck the woman, who was a member of the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana, from behind, which knocked her to the ground. He then continued to punch and kick her, breaking her nose during the incident.
