Charter Commission Vote Tonight

The Lafayette Charter Commission could take a final vote tonight on a proposal to create separate governmental charters for the city of Lafayette and Lafayette Parish.  The panel was leaning that way when it last met.  "The Advocate" reports state and federal agencies would first have to approve the charter plan before the public votes on it.
