Chef Pat Mould joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today and hailed firemen from across the state as they hold their 108th annual convention in New Iberia.

Mould noted a multi-colored firetruck was on hand to represent 'Colors for a Cause' an organization of firemen dedicated to raising cancer awareness.  Mould said,

Here are these guys and women putting their lives on the line each time they go out on a call and yet they still have time to take up a cause like this.  It was very rewarding to hang out with them.  All the fire trucks were pretty cool too!  You can find out more about the organization and donate at Colors For A Cause.org.

In addition to visiting with the firemen and experiencing a training simulator there's more for Chef Mould to do. Tomorrow I'll be doing a cooking demonstration with the ladies group at Rip Van Winkle Garden's at Jefferson Island.

I'm doing three different recipes including shrimp Creole, Acadian bread pudding and my pear, Gorgonzola salad which will be on my tombstone.  It's been branded as my 'Tombstone' salad.  It's a pear, Gorgonzola, sweet and spicy pecan salad with a cane herb vinaigrette.

The 'Best Life Iberia Initiative' in conjunction with Iberia Medical Center has published Chef Mould's August recipe,

This is a zucchini-cheese bread and you can go to Best Life Iberia on Facebook to find the recipe or you can go to Chef Pat Mould on Facebook.  What's interesting to me is that my recipes have been analyzed through the Best Life Initiative and they are nutritionally sound...with no adjustment.
