Chef Pat Mould Says Regulation Can Be Good
Chef Pat Mould joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today to discuss regulations that are being enforced by the Wildlife and Fisheries Department. According to Chef Mould government regulation can be onerous but sometimes it actually can serve a purpose. Mould said,
Since last Tuesday fishermen need a free 'landing permit' from the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Fishermen are being asked to report certain fish that are being harvested so the Department can access if a species is being depleted to extinction.
According to Mould the Department of Wildlife makes it easy to report.
A boat captain can report by calling a toll free number or on-line. These reports are important because of global over-fishing of some species, especially tuna.
