Chef Pat Mould visited 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today and discussed New Year's resolutions, holiday cooking, fine cheeses and healthy eating.

With the impending New Year many people have resolutions they plan to implement but Chef Mould says most people want to lose weight.  According to Mould,

The best way to lose weight and keep it off is with a long term plan...Studies show the slower you lose weight the longer you keep it off.

When attempting to lose weight Mould said,

The biggest mistake people make when trying to lose weight is they don't eat breakfast.  You know how they say 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day'?  The reason that is, is because it jump-starts your metabolism and gets your metabolism going.  If your metabolism isn't cranking you're not going to burn calories...The quicker you get your metabolism going in the morning the quicker you'll start losing weight.

Water consumption is another key to weight loss.  Chef Mould said,

According to the American Medical Association recommends at least 15 cups of water per day for a man and 9 cups of water per day for a woman for optimum health.

Chef Mould is posting a chart on his Facebook page that you can download and print to post on your refrigerator to keep track of foods you eat.  He guarantees this chart will help you lose weight in the coming year.  Visit Chef Pat Mould's Cooking Up A Good Life Facebook Page to get the chart and plenty of other great information.
