UL junior pitcher Christina Hamilton

With one week remaining in the 2014 college softball regular season, Louisiana Ragin' Cajun pitcher Christina Hamilton continues to lead to Sun Belt Conference in wins.

A junior from Leesville, Hamilton won three games last week, including one against the nationally-ranked Baylor Bears, and two in Sun Belt Conference play against the UT-Arlington Mavericks, to improve an impressive 21-1 on the season.

Hamilton, a right-hander has won 18-consecutive decisions, and hasn't been hit with a loss since the Cajuns suffered an 8-5 setback to the USF Bulls, back on February 22, in the 2014 NFCA Leadoff Classic.

Currently, Hamilton leads the conference with 21 victories in the circle, followed by Farish Beard of South Alabama with 19, and Georgia St.'s Kaitlyn Medlam with 18.

Neither Louisiana, South Alabama, or Georgia St. play in non-conference action before the weekend, so Hamilton will take a two-game lead into the weekend, with the postseason Sun Belt Conference tournament to follow the next week.

South Alabama left-hander Hannah Campbell leads the league in ERA., at a 0.98, with her teammate, Beard, close behind, at a 0.99, and Hamilton in third, at 1.26.

Beard, a junior right-hander, leads the conference in strikeouts, with 181.

As a staff, Louisiana ranks second in the league in ERA., with a 2.87, only behind South Alabama, who has an ERA. of 1.25.

The Jaguars also lead the league in strikeouts, with 354, while the Cajuns ranks second, with 324.

Louisiana closes out their 2014 regular season schedule this weekend, hosting the ULM Warhawks, in a three-game, weekend, Sun Belt Conference series at Lamson Park.
