Christmas To Affect Trash Pickup In Lafayette Parish

As we celebrate Christmas Day on Tuesday, customers with Republic Services need to be aware that garbage or recycling collection will not happen on Tuesday, meaning Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday customers will receive collection the next day. (Monday customers received their normal collection earlier today.)

Any excess garbage, which includes any bagged waste that does not fit in the 96-gallon garbage cart, will be collected on their first service day after Christmas. Individually-bagged garbage is not to exceed 35 pounds.

Lafayette Consolidated Government's Compost Facility on 400 Dugas Road (off North University Avenue) will be closed Dec. 25 and January 1 and will return to its regular hours on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
